Welcome

Georgia State Referee Committee Referee Registration System

You may re-take any test BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at the Georgia Soccer Office during regular business hours. Contact Anne Wright at awright@georgiasoccer.org, phone 770.452.0505 or Toll Free at 877.231.2661 Extension 105.

Your referee registration history is linked to your login. If you have EVER signed up for a class on this website, you have a login that works.  Creating a new one will NOT allow you to register for a recertification or upgrade clinic. The system will treat you as a NEW referee.

Remember, you can change your username or password to anything you like by clicking on "Change Identity".

Who Needs to Take a Recertification Class?

Every certified referee needs to take a Recertification Class for each registration year. The registration year is from January 1 to December 31. The classes for that year begin in June or July of the preceding year. Check the list for available classes (click "Sign up for Classes " on the menu). Remember, if you are a Grade 9 referee, taking a Bridge Class to upgrade counts for your Recertification.

Live Help Chat Now Available

If you need help while on the site, look for the Live Chat icon on the help page. If one of the support staff is logged in online, you may be able to get your problem solved faster than by using an exchange of emails.

Here are links to instructions for the most common activities.

REGISTERING FOR A CLASS

You can enter the system to sign up for classes in either of two ways. You can log in first and then select "Classes" from the menu on the left, or you can click on "Classes" first and navigate to the class you want and then login when you are prompted.

Not sure what class to sign up for? Click "FAQ" on the menu on the left.

NEW REFEREES' LOGIN:

Click Log In on the menu at the left and either create your own unique username and password or click "Sign up for Classes" to see a list. You will be asked to create a login after you have chosen a class. Either way, the Class Type you want "Referee Entry Course R9."

If you need help setting up or using your username and password, click here. You can also click Help on the menu or the bottom of any page to get in touch with support.

If you want, you can create a login Username and Password and then not register for a class at that time. When you return, be sure to use the login you created and do not create another one.

EXISTING REFEREES LOGIN:

BECAME A REFEREE AFTER JUNE 2006: If you are already a referee, and if you have logged in before, you do NOT have to use your USSF ID number unless that was your username and you chose not to change it. For example, let's say Sally took the Entry Class in July, 2006. She created a new login with "goodkicker" as her username and "lotsofgoals" as her password. Now it is February, 2007, and Sally wants to upgrade. She should NOT use her USSF ID. She can login as "goodkicker," enter her password "lotsofgoals" that she set up for the entry class. Now she will be able to sign up for a Bridge Class Upgrade R9 to R8.

REGISTERED BEFORE JUNE 2006: If you are a returning referee after being uncertified for a while, you are probably in our database already. If you have NEVER logged in to the site before, and you were registered in Georgia in any year from 2003 through 2006, a login username and password are already set up for you to use. Your Username will be your USSF ID number (do not enter dashes). Your password will be your LAST NAME plus YEAR of birth. For example, "smith1922". (You must use this login to connect your login to your existing USSF records, otherwise the system thinks you are a beginner and will only let you sign up for a Grade 9 Entry class.) You can change your username and password to anything you like after you have logged in. Click "Change Identity" on the menu and look for the links at the top to Change Username and Change Password.

Need to find out your ID number? Click here and submit a help ticket.

REFEREE BEFORE 2003 OR ANOTHER STATE

If you used to be a referee in Georgia before 2003, or if you are a referee moving in from another state, you will not be in our database until we set up a record for you. In those cases, click Help on the menu and give us the particulars - your name, date of birth, and city and state where you were last registered. We can look you up in the USSF nationwide database and establish a record in our database so you can register for the appropriate class and get on the list of registered referees for Georgia assignors to see.

Gareferees.com, GameOfficials.net , and Gasoccer.org.

The Georgia Referee Registration System at www.gareferees.com is operated by the same company that designed and operates GameOfficials.net, a service provider for assignors and the referees who work with them. The two systems share many of the same screen images, but they are two different sites. Information does not cross over from one system to the other. The Georgia Soccer website is entirely different.

You CANNOT log in to the registration system using your old GameOfficials.net login. You must go on to the Gareferees.com site and create a login username and password or, if you are an existing referee who has not logged in before, use the the username (ID Number) and password (last name + year of birth) created for you.

Once you have logged in to the system, you can change your username and password to anything you like, including the same username and password you use for GameOfficials.net. If you do that, you can switch back and forth easily by clicking "Change Identity" on the menu.

You CANNOT log in to the registration system using your Georgia Soccer web page login.

NEED TO SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT CLASS OR DROP A CLASS?

Log in. Click "Confirmed Reg". Click on the date to open your registration information. Click "Cancel my registration for this class". Click "Classes". Select and register for the new class. Pre-payments made online and any prior attendance at earlier sessions will follow your registration to the new class. The system will not let you register for more than one class of the same type. You cannot register for the new class until you have un-registered from the old one.

The system will not provide refunds automatically. It will, however, save your payment history. If you drop a class and want a refund, contact the Georgia Soccer office at 770-452-0505 in the Atlanta area, or 877-231-2661 (toll-free) outside Atlanta.

IF YOU DID NOT GET A CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION, IT MAY BE YOUR SPAM FILTER.

SPAM FILTERS ARE GREAT!

But some of them think messages from www.gareferees and support@gareferees.com are coming from the dark side and will often block them. If you have a spam filter on your email, know that gareferees.com may be unable to send you a registration confirmation or a response to your help requests due to them being considered spam by the filter. This has been a common problem with  Earthlink email accounts. Be sure to configure your spam filter to allow messages from gareferees.com and support@gareferees.com. Thanks.

LET'S GET IT RIGHT!

When you log in and the system displays your registration information, please take a moment to review everything on it and correct any errors or omissions. There are a lot of wrong things out there in the database, and this is your chance to correct them. Please enter an email, as this is the only way we have of contacting you.

DON'T LIKE YOUR LOGIN OR PASSWORD?

Who would? Sixteen digits! Yikes! You can change either your username or your password by clicking on "Change Identity" on the Menu. Look up for the green links at the top of the page that say Change Username and Change Password.

I SEEM TO BE CAUGHT IN AN ENDLESS LOOP -- IT GOES FROM LOGIN SCREEN IN GAREFEREES TO THE LOGIN SCREEEN AT GAMEOFFICIALS.NET AND BACK AGAIN.

This problem has been encountered by a few users of Internet Explorer 7.0 and is very frustrating. For some, rebooting their network router or their computer made the problem go away. If those don't work, the recommended treatment is to clear your internet files. In IE 7, click Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History, Delete.... In the dialog box try deleting Temporary Files, Cookies, and  Form Data. If you want to lose as little history as possible, delete them one at a time in that order and try again.
